It’s only 8 days until Brexit…

The default outcome is still a ‘Hard Brexit’.

Unless of course all 27 member countries of the EU approve an extension.

The French President has made it clear an extension will only happen under strict conditions.

It’s cast a cloud of doubt over Pound Sterling.

We look set for another volatile week…

In the UK, Theresa May plans to hold a third vote on her Brexit deal.

But this time there’s a catch.

She is using the threat of a long delay to Brexit to force her deal through. As always, the Pound will be ultra-sensitive to any developments.

The Europeans have plenty of problems of their own.

This weekend in France, violence re-erupted from ‘Yellow-Vest’ protesters.

If President Macron takes a hard-line approach, the situation could quickly escalate. However, if he appeases the protesters it may take France beyond the EU deficit rules, which would have negative consequences for the Euro.

As expected, MPs have voted against a ‘no-deal’ Brexit.

It’s been taken as good news for the Pound, which now sits at 95-week highs against the Euro.

It seems we extend the Brexit chaos into the future.

But now what?

The delay will be anywhere between 3 months and 2 years depending on who you believe.

There’s still a lot of potential outcomes that could happen from here.

Which means the outlook for Pound Sterling remains uncertain and unpredictable.
