A house in the French really that dreams are made of!

The department of Corrèze is located in south central France, Corrèze belongs to the Limousin region. Correze is the name river running through the department. The population is around 240,000 inhabitants and is split into three arrondissements (Tulle, Brive and Ussel), 38 cantons and 285 towns and villages. Lanscapes in this department are mountains, plateaus and valleys. The highest mountain is the Mont Bessou at 978m.

Correze has many pretty villages or towns. It has six villages belonging to the ’Prettiest villages of France’ category, so watch out for Collonges-la-Rouge, Curemonte, Saint-Robert, Ségur-le-Chateau, Treignac and Turenne.

Limousin is often described as one of the cheapest French regions in terms of property. It will depend of course on the location and your personal expectations but in general you get a lot for your money.

Less than 12% of the properties in Correze are second homes but the number is climbing as it is really sought after for quality holiday homes and setting up a B&B style business.

With a little elbow grease you will have an ideal holiday home

I just love these houses that are in a great location to be used as a holiday home in France and all they need is someone who is good at DIY, they don't need hoards of builders to improve them just a bit of good old-fashioned elbow grease.

How about this one CXZ00552 recently on the market for only 39,990 euros FAI.

property for sale in france CXZ00552

This charming detached property offers great potential. The house, with 2 rooms and a garden is ideal for a holiday home, with a relatively modern bathroom and wc, and benefits from some great character features such as original inglenook fireplace in the kitchen. With a private garden, a courtyard and a barn on 2 levels, it will make a lovely full time home for a small family or couple; or indeed a great holiday home once renovated.

A very desirable property at a fantastic price.

The department of Haute-Vienne is in the region of Limousin and boasts a varied landscape of forests, countryside and lakes that attract many tourists each year looking for a range of activities including walking, fishing, sailing, boating and skiing.

In addition, the department has a strong historical and cultural heritage and the landscape is dotted with Roman churches, abbeys and fortified castles. Beautiful man-made beaches are easily accessible and are an good alternative for a great day out. In particular, the Lake of Vassiviere, created in 1950, is extremely popular with visitors.

It is sometimes known as the Land of a Thousand Lakes, the Limousin and its Haute-Vienne department offer beautiful and preserved landscapes. Waterfalls sparkling in the middle of rocks and trees, myriads of flowers and impressive dense forests are the kind of treasures that can be discovered in the department.

Transport links are good too, the easy and cheap access from the United Kingdom with companies as Ryanair or from French cities made that Limoges and the Haute-Vienne became an attractive destination. There is also a project of enlargement for Limoges' airport.

Fishing in France from your own garden

Starting to think about going fishing in France again soon as I am not a true fishing sportsman who likes to brave the winter months, more of a set up the rods, picnic by the river with copious wine, cheese and bread, long nap, wake up and pack up; then call in at the fishmongers on the way home to buy a couple of big trout to present to her ladyship for supper!

There are quite a few properties next to rivers and there is one that is just perfect for trout fishing - JUH00125 is on the market for 179,950 euros FAI.

This brand new 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house is situated next to a river that winds through the lovely village of Grouches-Luchuel in the Picardy region of northern France. The village is near historic fields of battle through the ages and the nearest town of Doullens has the oldest citadel in France due to it's historic location as a frontier town.

Set in a plot of 756 sqm bordered by the river Grouches which is a grade-1 Trout river with 11 authorised positions (two by the house 1 by front garden and 1 by the back - how cool is that for fishing) between the Moulin and the bridge.

See the attachments on the listing detailing how to join the fishing club and get access to all the lakes and rivers in this part of France.

A little further to travel, from the UK, but Upper Normandy and Lower Normandy offer very good fishing too.

Anybody got any good fishing stories in France?

I met you at a French Property Exhibition and you have been very helpful

Hi David, Yes, I met you at a French Property Exhibition and you have been very helpful.

You may remember, my husband works in the Middle East. Well, his employers are finally letting him live in Bahrain and commute, so we will be settled there (I will come home in the summer) for the next few years, hopefully. Then we may be in a position to retire to France.

Thank you once again for all your help.

Regards, Sheila.

We met this charming couple at one of the French Property Shows we were Exhibiting at and although plans can change it is nice to keep in touch and help them in the future if they decide to buy a retirement place in France with Cle France - The French Property Network.

thank you cle france

Cle France Marketing packages really work to sell your house

We were extremely impressed with the service both you and David gave us. The support and help you gave throughout was incredible. The details of the house and the huge amount of local information on the website was amazing. La Mascrere was beautifully presented on the site and I am certain that this had a big part in the number of people who expressed an interest in the house.

We were lucky enough to have 2 serious buyers and the house was sold almost immediately. This was even more extraordinary as it was over this winter period and we were not expecting any interest at this time. We think your service was very, very good value.

The fact that you provided an interpreter for the signing at the Notaire's office was the icing on the cake. It made a very sad, for us, occasion very easy.

You answered all our questions with honesty and made the whole process a very smooth transaction. If we were to buy in France again we would not hesitate to use your services again.

Again we would like to thank you for your assistance in what was quite an emotional experience for us, or me in particular,  please feel free to use our recommendation for your services.

We would also like to say that the interpreter, I'm really sorry but we have lost her card, was lovely, great fun and was so helpful.

If we want to buy again we will definitely call you.

Very best regards to you both and take care,

Jenny & Barry.

Barry & Jenny used our GOLD Level Marketing Package to sell their house with us to great effect. Sell your property in France with Cle France - The French Property Network.

Thanks you cle france
